Success Requires More Than Just Wishful Thinking

I'm Not Much of a Radio Listener...
Except when I am in my automobile, and even then I do love to listen to CDs now that I know how to play them in the car's system. (That took me two lessons.)

When I'm Driving Short Distances...
From home to the post office, the library, church or the grocery store, I typically tune into radio. And, I consistently listen to a Northampton station, WEIB FM 106.3.

The Station's Morning Man J.D. Houston...
Who begins at 6 a.m., is not only blessed with a “delicious” sense of humor is also a very good interviewer. His choice of music is a blend of Smooth Jazz which is just what I need.

I Also Need JD's Daily Message...
which he closes with just before he introduces Kim DeShields who takes over at l0 and is terrific as well.
J.D.'s message is: "If you want something in your life you've never had; you've got to do something you've never done."

I Was Never Bright Enough...
To come up with this thought, having relied on things like "carpe ciem" (which means "seize the day") and then expounding on the theory that you should never put off until tomorrow what you can do today because if you like it you can do it again tomorrow. Too many of us are afraid to take a chance
.

I Ran This Thought By Some Of...
My very good friends as we were ordering dinner at an area restaurant recently. One of my friends who consistently looks at the menu, says, "I would love to try" and then mentions something which is always on the menu.
Since the rest of us have never tried it we can't give her our opinion.  I am never shy about giving my opinions though so I quoted J.D. to her.

Finally, after all these months she ordered what she'd wanted to try all along.  She didn't like it much and decided that she would never order it again.  But, she did admit that she was so glad she took a chance.  So were we.

We Were Tired Of Hearing Her Say...
She would like to take a chance on an entrĂ©e but never dared to do it.
This message, of course, could have other consequences.

On the other hand a widow who had not dated anyone since her husband died wanted to meet someone as a friend rather than a replacement for her husband. She went online, enrolled in a program which matches up people and is now so happy with a remarkable man.

J.D.'s Message Is a Good One...
"If you want something in your life that you've never had -- you have to do something you've never done."
